Active Play Street Hockey League (APHL)

Come join us for our Active Play Street Hockey League season!  Our league is for boys and girls (5-12) of all experience levels and is built around learning the game of hockey, teamwork, sportsmanship and friendly competition.

Led by experienced coaches, our weekly practices focus on stick handling, passing, shooting, and game awareness to build confidence and skills.

Saturday Games

Exciting one-hour games every Saturday! Kids play two 20-minute halves, rotating positions and taking turns playing goalie each week. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled game.

Fair Play

Equal Playing Time

We guarantee equal playing time for all players. Everyone gets to rotate positions, try new roles, and take turns playing goalie each week.

Players will receive their personalized jerseys on the first game day of the season. Jerseys will be on the player benches.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is previous hockey experience required?

No! Our league is built for boys and girls of all experience levels, from absolute beginners to seasoned players. We focus on learning the game, teamwork, and fun.

How are teams formed?

Teams are organized by our three age divisions: Squirts (5–6), Pee-Wee (7–8), and Bantam (9–12). You can also request friend groupings during registration, and we will do our best to place them together.

What happens if it rains?

In the event of inclement weather, we will notify families as soon as possible regarding game or practice cancellations or indoor relocations.

What equipment is required?

A helmet with a cage is mandatory. Street hockey gloves and shin guards (soccer shin guards work great!) are highly recommended for safety and hand movement.

Can my child use ice hockey gloves to play?

Street hockey gloves allow for better hand movement than ice hockey gloves. We recommend these gloves here
